Since 2019 we have run the Photography Ethics Symposium to create a space to share ideas, raise questions, and critically consider photography ethics in conversation with others. It started as an in-person event at the Royal Photographic Society in Bristol, then moved online for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024. Our 2026 symposium was held at Queen’s University Belfast. Going forward, we plan to make this a biennial in-person event, with the next one planned for 2028.
The theme of the 2024 Photo Ethics Symposium was: Ethics in the Age of AI.This symposium took place online over 3 days, from December 4-6, 2024.
